Bukidnon is becoming a stronger center for innovation in Northern Mindanao as Valencia City hosted the Northern Mindanao Regional Innovation Program and Exhibit 2026, also known as NorMinRIPE 2026.
The event, held on April 21 to 22, 2026, showcased market-ready innovations, product-based technologies, process improvements, and research outputs that can support businesses, communities, MSMEs, local government units, and investors. The exhibit formed part of the region’s observance of National Innovation Day and aimed to make innovation more accessible beyond major urban centers.
NorMinRIPE 2026 carried the theme “Building Regional Pathways for Inclusive Innovation.” This reflects the event’s goal of making science, technology, and research more useful for real-world problems, especially in agriculture, manufacturing, health, education, digital enterprise, and community development.

One of the main goals of the exhibit was to connect innovators with possible adopters, partners, and investors. Through exhibits, forums, and pitching sessions, innovators were given the opportunity to present technologies that may be commercialized or used by businesses and communities. The program also included “reverse pitching,” where local government units and MSMEs could present real problems for innovators to solve.
For Bukidnon, this event is important because it shows that innovation is not limited to Metro Manila or large cities. Provinces with strong agricultural, industrial, academic, and entrepreneurial communities can also become active centers for technology adoption and commercialization.

This also opens opportunities for startups, researchers, manufacturers, MSMEs, and investors looking for practical innovations that are already close to market use. Many research outputs from schools and institutions often remain unused, but events like NorMinRIPE help create a bridge between research and actual business or community application.
For business builders and investors, the key takeaway is simple: regional innovation events are not only exhibitions. They are discovery platforms. They help identify new products, technologies, local inventors, research teams, and partnership opportunities before they become widely known in the market.
As Northern Mindanao continues to strengthen its innovation ecosystem, Bukidnon’s role in hosting NorMinRIPE 2026 positions the province as an emerging destination for technology-driven collaboration, local enterprise development, and inclusive regional growth.
