The Filinvest Group's renewable energy arm is making a significant move toward a cleaner Mindanao. FDC Green Energy Corp. (FDC Green), a subsidiary of FDC Utilities Inc. (FDCUI), is poised to begin commercial operations at its newly certified solar power facility in Misamis Oriental — marking a major milestone for clean energy development in the region.
On April 23, FDC Green announced that it has secured a Certificate of Compliance (COC) from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) for its 20.774-megawatt peak (MWp) ground-mounted solar installation. Strategically situated within the PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate in Tagoloan, the facility is now cleared to feed power directly into the Mindanao grid.
The plant is expected to generate approximately 30.2 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean, renewable energy every year — enough to meaningfully reduce dependence on fossil fuels and support the region's growing power demands.
This development underscores the Gotianun-led Filinvest Group's commitment to expanding its footprint in sustainable energy, as the Philippines continues to accelerate its transition toward a greener and more resilient power sector. With the ERC's stamp of approval now in hand, FDC Green's Misamis Oriental solar plant stands ready to deliver on its promise of reliable, environmentally responsible electricity for Mindanao.
